OUR STORY
AJ’s Literacy Foundation began with a mother’s love and a promise to keep a young man’s memory alive.
Arthuris “AJ” Rapp became my son through love, even though we did not share a biological bond. After losing him in a car accident on August 6, 2022, I began sharing our journey through my book, His Story, Our Journey. That act of remembrance grew into a larger purpose: serving children and families through literacy.
Today, we honor AJ by putting free books into children’s hands, building community partnerships, and developing neighborhood Little Libraries. Every book shared is another opportunity to encourage a reader and carry his legacy forward.

OUR VISON
We envision communities where every child has access to books, feels encouraged to read, and has the opportunity to discover what is possible through literacy.
Through lasting programs, meaningful partnerships, and community support, we are building a legacy that reaches far beyond today.
